An election recount will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2025, at 4:30 pm in the cafetorium at SSES. Three races in the 2025 municipal election were close enough to be subject to a mandatory recount via state statute.

Election Day 2025 was a big win for Easton Republicans, as Dan Lent and Kristi Sogofsky topped a ticket that looks to walk away with seven if not all eight of the contested seats in the municipal election, pending mandatory recounts for three races.

Kristi Sogofsky was first appointed to fill a vacancy on the Board of Selectmen in 2018 and won a special election that fall. She won re-election in 2019, 2021 and 2023. Daniel (Dan) Lent, a local environmentalist with life-long ties to Easton, is the Republican First Selectman candidate for this year’s local election. Lent will be joined on the ticket by incumbent Selectman Kristi Sogofsky, who was named to the Board of Selectmen in 2018 and is seeking her fifth term.
